We’re thrilled to introduce Matt Wehner as the newest member of the Champions of Wellness and Well-Being Index team! With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare sales and leadership, Matt brings both expertise and passion to our mission of transforming clinician well-being.

Some of you may have had the chance to meet Matt at the Champions of Wellness Healthcare Summit, where he connected with attendees and shared insights about building healthier, more sustainable workplace cultures. For those who haven’t yet, we’re excited to share more about the energy and experience he brings to our expert team and clients.

A Career Built on Helping Others

Matt’s career journey has spanned healthcare, technology, wellness, and staffing, with more than a decade in leadership roles including Director of Sales, Account Executive, and Senior Department Head. But at the core of every role has been a constant: his drive to help people.

That passion started early in his career, working in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, and was deeply shaped by watching family members face health challenges. “I’ve always loved coaching people to feel better and be the best version of themselves—physically, emotionally, and mentally,” he shares.

For Matt, joining Champions of Wellness and the Well-Being Index is more than a career move—it’s a calling.

“What excites me most is the opportunity to make a real, measurable impact on the well-being of healthcare professionals. The Well-Being Index is research-backed by Mayo Clinic and provides actionable insights, which means I get to help organizations move beyond surface-level wellness initiatives into data-driven strategies that truly reduce burnout and improve culture. For me, combining consultative sales with a mission that directly supports caregivers—and ultimately improves patient care—is incredibly motivating.”

A Personal Glimpse

Based in Lake Orion, Michigan, Matt is a proud lifelong Michigander who loves experiencing all four seasons close to his family. Sports—especially baseball and football—are another passion, and he has coached youth and adult teams for more than 15 years.

A few fun facts? He grew up on a farm, comes from a very large family, and has a love for collecting historical items with meaningful stories.
